• After the Ashes,
Thus Bad Begins.” - Giselle Zado Wasfie - A Flint Native & URB
Magazine Associate Editor
“Break out your devil horns and get ready for some good ol’-fashioned
(cough) arena rock and a sound that’s part Alice in Chains, part Bon
Jovi and whole lot of we-take-this-goth-angry-thing-very-senously. The
guitars sound appropriately down-tuned, the lead singer appropriately
pissed off and this updated grunge pulls you down and riles you up. It’s
the kind of music that scares parents. Then there’s a song like ‘The
Glorious Burden’ where singer Jamie Lane rages mournfully: “Take a look
at what you’ve done to me/Did it make you what you want to be?” It’s the
kind of stuff that could fill stadiums.”
